Q. How do I actually buy a minute? What is the process? |
|
A. It's very simple.
At the top of the screen, you'll see a box entitled "FIND A MINUTE FOR YOU OR SOMEONE SPECIAL".
In there is a box marked "Time Zone".
Click on the arrow on the right side of the Time Zone 'drop-down' box (the box containing "- -Select Time Zone - - ").
Select from that box your chosen time zone by clicking on it so that the correct one shows in the box. The time zone is for the event you want to remember on this site, so, depending on the event, it could be where you live now; where you were born; where you got married or the time zone of the event in the life of the person you're buying the minute for.
Then select a year, month, day, hour and minute that you would like to mark as special and click "Go"!
That's it! |
|
If the minute is available, you will be notified on the screen and you can then purchase it. Your chosen minute will stay in your shopping basket for up to 10 minutes until you complete your purchase. In those 10 minutes, you can choose other minutes to buy, and then add them to your basket and checkout, or simply checkout straightaway.
|
|
But you must checkout within 10 minutes of selecting the first minute.
(This is so that other people can buy them if you changed your mind but stayed logged in to the site, reserving certain minutes in your shopping basket.)
Don't worry: checking out is quick and you can always come back for more minutes!
|
|
If your preferred minute is not available, you will be offered nearby / adjacent minutes to the one you were after. If you're happy with the selection, choose one or more of these and add them to your basket, where they will remain for up to 10 minutes until you complete your purchase.

Q. How do I share my site or keep it private if I prefer? |
|
A. The choice is yours: keep it private or share it with family, friends or colleagues.
If you prefer to keep it private, you have total security, so no-one else can see your photos without your permission.

Q. How long will this site exist? In other words, for how long will I have access to my minute(s) and photos? |
|
A. Being Life Coaches, we are very aware of how important it is to people to feel that they are being treated fairly and with respect. We will maintain this site for many, many years and it is intended to be an enduring store for your memories. One of our companies, a UK-registered (3555183) and VAT-registered (GB702754059) company, Dunedin Consultants Limited of Mayfair, London, England (www.dunedin-consultants.com), owns and runs the Memory Room site. If we ever sold the company, we would ensure that this site would continue under its new ownership. We have also made arrangements that, if the site is under our ownership at the time of our death, it will continue under charitable ownership or control to raise funds for good causes. All minute buyers would of course be notified of any such change in ownership.

Q. How many photos can I store on a site? |
|
A. Due to storage considerations, we are permitting up to 10 high quality photos per minute bought. So, if you need more than 10 photos to commemorate an event, we recommend that you buy adjacent minutes to store your memories.
If you got actually 'got married' (said I do, signed the register, the vicar or priest pronounced you man and wife, etc.) at 11:30, but the ceremony lasted from 11:10 to 11:35, why not buy all of those minutes and put up to 250 (25 minutes bought x 10 photos per site) photos on your sites?! We offer great discounts for buying more than 1 minute.

Q. I am getting an error message about Java or Java scripts or am I getting a blank screen when I click on one of your links. What do I need to do? |
|
A. Our site uses Java scripts, so you need to enable Java or "allow memoryroom.com" in your Java script blocker. The page should then appear. If it doesn't, click on 'reload page' or 'refresh page' in your browser please.
Some areas of the site do not allow using the "Back key" in your browser. This is both to keep the integrity of the database searches and ordering data. If you get a blank page or error message that the page is not available, you will most likely have to close your browser and start over again. |

Q. I'm having problems getting the certificate centered on the page. What can I do? |
|
A. Every printer is different and we don't know what size of paper you will use, but we can give you some general print guidelines. To change the print settings in Internet Explorer, click 'File' then 'Page Setup'. Set the 'Paper size' you want and then set 'Orientation' to Landscape. Change the 'Margins' as appropriate to your chosen paper size and printer. Also, your browser may be set to show page numbers and so on in the header or footer. Remove all characters from the header and footer input boxes and click 'OK' to save your changes. Select 'File', 'Print Preview' to see how the certificate looks and amend settings as appropriate before printing out the certificate. |
